The room's aroma seemed to seep even through the sleeve Chase was holding against his mouth and nose, his attempt to wipe out the smell of dirty clothing and sweaty socks hadn't gone all too well. He couldn't even remember why he was down here..

Oh well, he's here now so he might as well make the most of it. Ignoring the house elves that scuttled around the room he walked in, his hand and sleeve still plastered to his sleeve as he breathed the damp air. It wasn't nice to be walking amongst all of the clothes that he knew had been wron by other students for quite a while (i mean they had to be if it smelt like wet dog down there). Anyway, he was sure that he'd remember what he was down here for sooner or later and it not then he'd just sidle away and kick himself later when he does remember.

"Somebody get a freakin' air freshner.." He muttered into his sleeve, his voice muffled by the fabric so close to his mouth. The air that he was breathing was starting to feel a little humid, it wasn't pleasant, nor could it be considered all too good for his skin either. He was going to get clammy and end up looking like some kind of prune. Like you do when you stay in the bath for looong periods of time.

"Or at least air conditionin'," he added as an afterthought, blinking a few times as he spotted somebody else within the room, standing not that far away. It took seconds for him to realise that this other person was looking directly at him, when it finally registered he grinned, although most of his friendliness was hidden by the black jacket sleeve pressed against his face..

Scarlett entered the washroom, hoping nobody was inside. In her overstuffed pile of clothing in her arms, it mostly consisted of .. err .. rather private articles. However, she blushed when she noticed Chase inside, and he seemed to spot her too, so it was too late to turn back. And Scarlett never blushed. But giving her male best friend a perfect view of the underwear she wore? Well, yes, she was a bit embarrassed.

"Hey, Chase," she said as nonchalantly as she could. "It's a bit, err, well ... it smells like my mother in here, let's put it that way." She wrinkled her nose. She never comes down here, and it seemed as though she chose the wrong time to do so ..

His gaze flickered from Scarlett's face to the clothing that she was carrying, then hurriedly back to her face again, a slightly more wicked smile appearing upon his lips. This boy would have made a good slytherin, at times.. But his kind and caring side outweighs his slightly manipulating side by faar. That doesn't stop him from poking fun at people though, "did you carry your panties and stuff all the way from your common room?" He asked, grinning still as he lowered his sleeve from his face. He wasn't rude.. He'd be polite and uncover the half of his face he'd covered even if it meant he'd have to die from humid sweaty sock air ¬_¬

"You did didn't ya?!" He grinned, "was it all heavy?" He never really gave her much time to answer, he'd already moved on as quicky as a three year old with ADD, "i can wait down here for them to get washed and carry them back up for you if you want, i'm useful like that. I swear not even one pair will go missing.. Scouts honour," he laughed, saluting his slytheriny friend, "ain't i useful, eh?"

Scarlett eyed Chase, a small smile coming onto her face and her blush seeping away. "I knew nobody would be around, so I felt no apprehension in carrying them," she answered first, followed by, "Now, Chasey poo, why would I need you to carry my lovely little knickers all the way back to my common room? If anyone saw you holding my panties, whatever would they say?" She didn't comment about them being heavy. There were a lot and the pile was sort of heavy on her arms.

He couldn't help but laugh, "It depends on who saw me carrying them," if it were just anybody, people that he didn't know then he doubted that they'd say anything to him. They'd probably just give him one of the oddest looks that they could manage, "If it were Kakashi, then he might get a little.. Jealous? Or annoyed. Either one i suppose.." He'd heard a rumour that apparently the two were dating, there was just a teeny bit of jealousy in his tone. Chase hardly ever got jealous, and whenever he did he suffered and hid it... "Are you turning down my offer of helpfulness?" He asked, mockingly disappointed, "how is somebody supposed to be a goody two shoes Gryffindor when they're not even allowed to be, it's extremely hard.."

Scarlett giggled. "Honey, I think that anyone would come up and say something to you if you were carrying two pounds of my underwear." At the mention of Kakashi, her face became a little guilty. "Yes, I do suppose he'd get jealous ..." How was she supposed to explain that she had liked them both .. Kakashi just asked her first? Now, her feelings for Chase were more pronounced than ever, and she wasn't too sure what to do. "I'm sorry, then," she said, dropping the underwear at her feet so she could pat his arm soothingly. "I'll let you carry my underwear to the Slytherin dorms in the dungeons. That makes it sound a lot less fun, doesn't it?"

"My, Scarlett, its awfully good if you to permit him to carry your undies.."Beau's disembodied voice, mock-serious but with an unmistakable thread of laughter carried through the humid air of the washroom, its speaker appearing moments later from behind what actually had to constitute a small mountain of soggy robes.
Beau, in a washroom? Beau hadn't even gone to the giant school camping trip for fear of getting dirty, or cold, or ruining his hair, or having to sleep in a tent with someone unattractive 'with a nice personality'. The only reason he'd suffered to come down to such common quaters was that in a particularly air-headed moment he'd left his wand in the pocket of his robes.
The same robes he then left on teh floor for the House Elves to take down and wash.

He'd been directing some House Elves (what? You thought he'd touch the dirty robes himself?) to look through the mounds of discarded clothing for his wand when he'd heard a conversation start up. He hadn't really bothered much about it until he heard the delightful nickname of 'Chasey Poo', and realised it was Scarlett saying it.. And now, reunited with his wand once more, he'd decided that just leaving was no fun, because apparently the washroom was the new social gathering hot spot.

"Utterly selfless. Honestly, Mother Theresa had nothing on you..." he straightened up properly, brushing lint off his super-skinny black jeans, a smile flashing pointed canines on his face. "And who is this darling 'Chasey Poo'?" he asked, eyes moving from Scarlett to the Gryffindor now, same look of amusement still upon his face. "And why, please do enlighten me, does he want to carry your unmentionables?" His voice actually broke out at teh last word, into a small laugh. And who said Slytherins didn't have a sense of humour?

It was the other voice that rang throughout the room, not the hand upon his arm that made him flinch. Was the washroom the newest, rad place for Slytherin's to skulk? Or was it washday for them all? If so, did that mean they were all wearing worn down, grandad (or grandma in Scarlett's case) pants? Chasey-poo Chase wanted to know.. But for fear of being hexed by this older, obviously not as happy go lucky Slytherin boy he was going to keep his questions to himself.

The confusion and shock had disappeared from his face as Beau had turned his gaze onto him, but he still looked a little bit awkward to have been caught offering to carry a girl's 'unmentionables' (as he'd put it) back to the common room. "It's Chase actually.." he explained with a small lopsided grin, lifting his hand in a small welcoming wave, "'Lo.." And who said all Gryffindor's were brave? They obviously hadn't seen one come face to face with Mister Fluffy-Evil-Slytherin-Vampire-Boy. "And.. Well, perhaps i was trying to be a gentlemen?" Plausible excuse? He didn't think so either. But he was going to stick to it. If bravery wasn't one of the things that got him into Gryffindor then it might have been his stubborness.

"Just Chase? I must say I think I liked Scarlett's version better.." he teased, with that ever present kind of teasing amusement that Slytherins practised in.. The kind that said they thought you were silly but cute, and quite amusing. Like you were a little fuzzy sheep or something. "I'm Beau." He introduced himself brightly, for once not actually taking up the opportunity to make the already obviously slightly embarassed boy feel any worse.
Amazing.
Obviously it was just because the boy was cute, but he didn't need to know that. Maybe he would think Beau was just a nice person ^-^

"Be a gentlemen?" he repeated, the ormer friendless and warmth was gone as fast as it had appeared, leaving a small slightly sceptical look on his face, an eyebrow quirking up at Chase's words. "That sounds like a horribly Gryffindor excuse..." he noted with an unmistakable hint of disappointment in his voice. "You looked sweet...I thought you might be Hufflepuff..?" he trailed off, obviously still hopeful and holding out for Chase to admit that actually, yes indeed he was a Hufflepuff.

"Hi.." He repeated, forgetting that he'd already said it once. But Beau had introduced himself to him, he couldn't exactly just ignore that could he? He might anger it... Not that Beau looked really all that scary, a little intimidating perhaps, but that was only because he was older. And evil. Obviously evil, he was a Slytherin. Not that the other Gryffindor's in his common room had pounded the idea that all Slytherin's were secretly vampires who were out for his blood. He's gullible, but he's happy that way..

At least he had the grace to look a little sheepish, "Well.. I might as well try to be a good Gryffie.. my cousin said they'd kick me out otherwise, then i'd be forced to live in a box in Hogsmead someplace.. I didn't like that idea much.." Obviously he'd go home or something, not live in a box, but Beau wasn't to know that ^^ "Hufflepuff? My parents were Huffies!" And he sounded proud of that fact? "'Parently i'm too brave and heroic to be a Huffie though," that may have sounded slightly more convincing if he weren't grinning brightly like some 'tard. At least the grin was enough to take the attention from the embaressed flush at his cheeks. He didn't do too well with compliments, no matter how minor they were.

"I see..." Beau nodded, looking less understanding and more like he was considering. So technically, by blood (and every good Slythie judged things by blood..) he was as good as a Hufflepuff really.. And from the fact he honestly seemed to believe he was going to have to live in a box somewhere he had the mental capacity of the average Hufflepuff. Beau's face brightened again, a smile catching again at the corners of his lips as he decided that Chase could surely be an exception to his 'I shall only perv-eth on Huffliepuffies' policy

"Well thats alright then" he decided brightly. "Sorry, darling, if I was rude... I don't mean to put down Gryffindors really" he lied shamelessly. "Slytherin instinct, obviously... I don't mean to be such a stereotype." That bit was true at least... He was honestly just naturally that much of a stereotype.

[Kakashi Uchiha]

Kakashi walked down towards the dungeons, planning to get his Quidditch robes washed. They were crusted with dirt and mud, and he was, too. Levitating a small basket in front of him, he located the door to the washroom. The moment he opened the door, he wish he hadn't for two reasons. One, the place smelled like millions of other mud, dirt, and sweat encrusted clothes, and two, he saw Scarlett holding a basket of underwear, Chase looking like he was offering to do something, and some other weird lookin' kid he didn't know. He had a sneaking suspicion of what Chase was offering to do.

Kakashi set the basket down in front a house-elf waiting for his clothes. He was blushing, although no one would be able to see it through the steam-ish air. "I guess I'll come back later for them," he said to the house-elf, refusing to look at anyone else in the room. Kakashi turned and left without a word, his hands balled up into fist, to go take a long shower.

Scarlett had really not been given an opportunity to talk during this entire ordeal. There was now a deep flush on her face, turning it scarlet (excuse the pun, dears). It was one thing for her best friend to see her basket of underwear, but it was an entirely different thing for now THREE boys to gather around looking at them.

She rather wished she hadn't come down at all.

"Hello, Beau," she said, handing the basket to a house elf and watching it carry off her stuff. Well, good, that was gone now.

"And Chase, thank you for being gentlemanly .. but, ah, I think I can handle my own underwear." She was about to turn and face Kakashi, who had just entered, but noticed the angry look on his face and realized what he must have been thinking, as his hands balled into fists.

"Oh, geez," she muttered, hopping up onto a table and stuffing her face into her hands.

"S'alright," he smiled more brightly, not wanting Beau to feel bad (even though he obviously doesn't) for judging him. Forgive and forget, it was one of Chase's many mottos in life. "S'long as you don't expect Gryffindor qualities from me in future, i might majorly disappoint.." Like loyalty. He'd stay by his friends most of the time, but if it came to a life or death situation he'd be out of their before you could say 'Holy freaking hell'.

Just when he was starting to feel comfortable once again (even though the smell of socks was still pretty strong) this had to happen. Kakashi was mad.. Or angry. Which, obviously, sparked up the ultimate guilt trip within Chase, even though he thought he hadn't done all that much wrong. Scarlett was his best friend, what the heck were friends meant to do if not carry each other's underwear? If somebody knows, please, enlighten him.
"Somebody shoot me," he muttered, forming a gun from his hand and pretending to c-ck it against his temple, "I'm such a nooob."

Everyone's attention seemed to shift to teh door,and so, logically, Beau copied to see what was happening. A Gryffindor he recognised from just seeing wandering round school made what had to be the briefest visit to teh laundry room ever (Beau didn't blame him. It smelt bad) and left, but judging from teh look on his face it was more than just the funky smell that had him about-turn and leave.
And then there was Scarlett's sudden reaction, and Chasie-Poo's guilty look. "What am I missing?" he asked eagerly, all prior conversation forgotton at the thought of some gossip. "What scandal am I missing?... And what's a 'nooob'?... And you can't shoot yourself with your own fingers, darling.." He added, a little bewilderment evident in his voice with the last clever observations. Beau was really rather clueless about anything muggle..
