History
On March 11, 1910, Citrine Bailey caught wind of one of the deadliest diseases of her time: tuberculosis. Her parents died years before she, but in her final moments in the orphanage, she was adopted. The mere thought of it only upset her, that a family would take her in, well aware of how little time she had left, and of how little she could function. She thought the family stupid for taking in such a burden. That is, until she discovered who they truly were. She could have guessed upon their entrance. Their beauty was noticed by all, some thought them angels, come to take her away to heaven. Instead, they adopted her. And with a single bite, turned her into a strong, fast, blood thirsty creature. An adoption present she never forgot. Citrine was quick to dislike anyone that didn't appreciate their gift of immortality. She never truly believed she could thank her parents, Edward and Josephine, for giving her such a gift. She loved them as if they were her own flesh and blood, and never did anything to disloyal them. A few years after she turned, they took in another: Alexander, who became her brother and her best friend.
She aged a few years, but stayed young, growth slowing around age seventeen. Every ten years or so, she would look perhaps a bit older, but always youthful and always beautiful. This attracted many, but only one man ever gained the love of young Citrine: Dante Alexander McCullen. He came from the same Irish town, and upon sight of each other, something was sparked. It was believed that for some people in the world, they were born with a bond, alive only to be with each other. Citrine and Dante were living [so to speak] proof of this legend, scars across their wrists reflecting their true names: Faithless & Constancy. They've been together ever since the spring of '27. He was an accident, a victim, if you will. But he, like Citrine, appreciated his gift endlessly. They were stronger in each other's presence, and weaker apart. But they had promises, and ways of staying strong. There was magic in their bond that they could not explain, but it was obvious what was there. Although they loved every second together, they were still curious, and hoped to one day find how they were made, and who bonded them together.
One winter, Josephine and Edward traveled to Spain, an annual tradition, to gather certain supplies and necessities. While Citrine and Alexander waited at home, the parents were hunted, and burned at the stake before an entire Spanish fleet of vampire hunters. Having heard the news through a series of vampire rumors, Citrine vowed to find the man who lit the match. This event caused a special bond between she and her brother, Alexander. They spent their time taking care of one another, and never stopped. After many travels and hunts, Citrine found herself still without answers. Having been sent a letter from Hogwarts year after year, something in her told her it was finally time. She was becoming alone in the world, and she wanted to let her brother move on, as well. It was hard leaving Dante, but they were gifted, and found ways to see each other. They also never stopped writing, even with how little occurred in Citrine's life. So, she approached the magical castle with high hopes and little to lose.
