He took the seat next to her with grattitude. Nice to meet you, Citrine. He gave her another smile, teeth straight thanks to braces in his earlier years. He noticed her fidgeting with her bag and he felt kind of bad. Am I making you feel awkward? He smirked slightly. I don't want to be a bother. He ran his fingers through his hair and took a deep breath.

Citrine became instantly angry at herself. She really did make everything uncomfortable, didn't she? For some reason, she really didn't want this one to leave. She had nothing to do for the rest of the night [as apposed to every night?] and a conversation with someone would be absolutely wonderful. Lately, she found herself wanting to meet new people. This was the opportunity she was looking for, and here she was ruining it. She pushed away her bag and laughed.
"I'm sorry, I tend to be a bit fidgety. You'll have to excuse that. I promise I'll stop." She smiled at him, wondering what on earth they were going to talk about now.

He watched as the girl pushed her belongings away. It's okay, I don't mind really. I think it was kind of cute. Laughing, he adjusted in his seat to face her. He rested his arm on the back of the bench and held his head up with his fist. It's pretty cool that you're willing to talk to me like a normal person. Most girls take my conversation starters as flirting. I guess you could say I am, in a sense, but it's just rather.. annoying when girls start to jump on me about it, or get really upset. He remembered the girl not too long ago on the rooftops. I just remember a certain girl.. I never caught her name. She seemed really upset about me being with her and kept glaring. He looked at Citrine, and smiled again. Strange thing.. having ears and a tail. Maybe that's why she's so apprehensive. His eyes were fixated on Citrine's hands. He was fascinated by the paleness of her skin. It looked almost inhuman. How do you get your skin so pale like that? You DO go outside at least once a year right? He laughed.

Citrine liked the way the boy made her feel comfortable. He was relaxed, and his body language something sweet. She turned to face him like he had, and put her arm up to her face the same way. Smiling, she liked the new feeling. As he spoke of flirting, she understood completely. She would love explaining herself on this one. But then, as he continued to speak, it was quite obvious he was speaking of Ritsuka. Figures he'd talk about her, she thought. He must have seen us talking. She tried not to get angry. Luckily, it wasn't hard. People coming to her to ask her about her equally attractive friend was common. Citrine was the go-to girl. Though, she had to admit to herself she was often hurt by it.
"That's Ritsuka..." She started to say slowly. "She doesn't really like...people. And when people flirt with her, it upsets her because she's very, er, shy. She doesn't easily let herself get close to people...except for one person. And well, he'd probably be upset if he knew..." Citrine really was having trouble explaining the situation. All this time, she thought it'd be easier, but she just couldn't find the right words. Though, she wanted to get back to the original point.
"As far as flirting goes, well, I suppose... I don't get defensive because I know that when guys do it, they really don't mean anything behind it. They just see a pretty girl and let their manhood guide them. By the next day, the poor girl will be completely forgotten. I don't encourage or discourage it. I just let it happen. And if, by the end of a nice conversation, I feel that the man sitting across from me has any heart at all, I'll hope to see him again. That's all I can let myself do." She had somehow saddened herself, but didn't let it show. She didn't even want to think about it...just moved on.
Then Citrine remembered what he said about her skin. It actually made her laugh. When she laughed, it was loud, but not unpleasant. It was the type of laugh that made other people happy just by hearing it. But after the laugh died, she realized he really didn't understand how she got so pale. She didn't want to just bluntly say it, but she didn't want to lie either...
"Well, I think it has something to do with the lack of blood flow," she said almost jokingly.

He listened to Citrine talk about the other girl from a couple nights ago and semi understood why she could've gotten angry. He felt kind of bad that he might've ruined a chance to be friends with someone but shrugged it off. He was certain he'd be able to fix that. Citrine's explanation made perfect sense to him. Most guys were shallow and didn't care for who they flirted with, but he could reassure Citrine that he was definitely that type. My flirting is.. the kind that I want to make girls feel good about themselves after. You know? It's obvious when I try to make it in a "loving" way, but that rarely happens. He laughed at his previous statement. How silly he must sound. Talking about flirting and stuff. I'm sorry, I bet I sound really stupid talking about flirting. Haha. He laughed, slightly embarrassed and put his hand behind his head. Lack of blood flow..? He gave Citrine a Yeah-Right kind of look and chuckled.

Citrine was a little annoyed. Just annoyed in general, not by anyone specifically. Why did people insist on worrying about making girls feel good about themselves? Ugh, it was just so pathetic. About her lack of blood, though, he didn't seem convinced. She wondered if she'd have to explain further. She looked up at him, confused as to what to say.
"Technically, though, you're not flirting. People nowadays can't have a simple conversation without it being flirting. Have you noticed that all we've done so far is talk? I haven't complimented you, you haven't complimented me. We haven't touched at all. The flirting hasn't even begun and already we're talking as if we're criminals. The world is a silly, overstated place."

That's true.. he said, fading a bit. Now he was the one feeling a bit awkward. Resting his hands on his lap he searched around for something to say. I guess I get my statements mixed up. Flirting and being kind are different I suppose. He scoffed slightly, I don't really know why I bother. He glanced over his shoulder and saw another train about to arrive.

Citrine felt her eyes widen a bit as she somewhat shot forward. It was that slow, but fast reaction type deal.
"Wait, did I ... I don't know, upset you somehow?" Great. He'd be leaving soon.

Oh, no no! I didn't mean for that to sound mad, if it did. You just made me think about a lot of things at once. He smiled. You didn't upset me at all. Watching the train leave, Kazuo realized that was his train back. He didn't know why he wasn't freaking out.. since he didn't know if there was going to be another train anytime soon. He shook his head slightly, I am so stupid. He grinned widely. It looks like a bunch of trains blow through here a lot, I'm sure I can catch one of those later. His eyes followed the train out of sight. Oh, Citrine. I know this was a while ago, but you said you weren't waiting for anyone.. So what ARE you doing here?

Citrine smiled with relief. Though, she did wonder what he was referring to if he wasn't upset. A train pulled through and he seemed to be distracted by it. Following it with his eyes, he informed her that he would probably just take another one. Where did he come from, she wondered again. She looked up as he asked her.
"I like to go places and... watch," she said dreamily. "Whether it's a train station, or a busy store, or even just the side of a street, I like to observe people. I can't explain it; I'm just drawn." She smiled almost to herself and watched as the train faded completely out of sight.

Kazuo found it very.. strange that someone would sit around all day and just stare at people. In fact, even a bit creepy. He raised his eyebrow a bit and smirked at Citrine. I don't know why, and I hope I'm not wrong and embarrass myself.. but you just don't seem like a people person. So why would you want to sit here and watch them? He felt silly asking such a strange question, but sometimes, those are the questions best asked.

"I guess you never know until you try," she said with somewhat of a smirk. She smelled gasoline and cigarette smoke. Crinkling her nose, she agreed to try to explain for once. "You see a man get off of the train, and there's a woman waiting for him. They embrace, and hold tight for a good five to ten minutes. They'd missed each other so much; I'm sure they never want to let go. It's...well, it's beautiful."
Citrine laughed and shook her head, her eyes lowering a bit, where she gazed upon the rusty track.
"And then there's that silly, hysterical girl, clumsy and confused, unsure of where to pick up her luggage, and who to go to for her ride, and where exactly the exit is. Poor thing. There's a lot to see by simply sitting and watching. For someone who spends a lot of time alone, it's a... a solution."

Kazuo played with his thumbs and nodded his head in a I-Guess-You're-Right kind of fashion. Simple words have never been so true. Glancing up he watched as some travelers were walking back and forth frantically, attempting to finish what? He wasn't sure. Narrowing his eyes a bit, he suddenly knew what Citrine had been talking about. Something about sitting here and watching was interesting. The good kind that sent tingles down his spine. He didn't know if that's how it made Citrine feel, but that's what it made him feel. Shivering a bit, his hand twitched. Haha.. I've never met someone as intelligent as you, Citrine. It's nice knowing there's at least SOMEONE out there that's smart. He grinned and looked around. Have you ever felt that way about someone, Citrine? The man and woman you spoke of. Have you ever wanted to hug someone and never let go..? His voice faded slightly and a small puff of fog escaped his lips, hair falling in his eyes from the slight breeze.

Citrine didn't know how to respond. At first, she didn't...at all. She just sat there, still staring, a faint smile on her face. Her hair was slightly damp from the mist, and she enjoyed the shivers running up and down her spine, goosebumps dancing on her marble skin. It was nice to know she expressed intelligence well. Out of everything...that was all she wanted. She didn't want to be just another girl with no brains and soft hair. She wanted something more, something special...something memorable. So many people forget memories. Once a moment is over, it's like death.
Oops, kind of went off base there. Citrine smiled at herself. She then looked up to the man beside her and met his eyes, which were slightly covered by fallen hair. Her smile grew a bit upon seeing this sight.
"With how long I've been around... I can't say that I have."

Staring back at Citrine, he couldn't say if he understood her correctly or not.. For how long she's been here? What's that? 15 years? He leaned his head to the side a bit and twitched the corner of his mouth. What do you mean.. You look so young, how could you say that? Life is just barely beginning for you, right? He felt that he was insulting her with this, but he needed to get his head cleared.
