Johnathan is setting up for his next class. The practice dummies are all lined up in rows and columns. On the raised platform is a single dummy on which he will demonstrate today's lecture. A final check with the roster leaves his class partly empty, so there are still a bunch of those dummies lining the back wall of the room. His desk has been removed from the room but it really wasn't necessary. He continued getting the class room ready for class, running through his lecture mentally.

The last time Ritsuka had attended class, students just introduced themselves and other such annoyances. She can't remember anyone's name's in the class and really, she didn't care. Mandu and Citrine were really the only people that mattered in her opinion.
Stepping into the class, only a few students had arrived. The room had odd dummies lined up and Ritsuka could only assume that this was their lesson today. Recalling that this lesson would require a partner, the cat girl immediately felt a bit awkward as she sat down at her desk. She doubted that the teacher would allow her, Mandu, and Citrine to be in a group of three. Feeling a bit selfish, Ritsuka felt it safer that she and Citrine were partners while Mandu went with someone else mainly because he was more of a people person than her vamipiric friend and herself.
Ugh, people need to hurry up and get here already... Ritsuka groaned as she laid her head upon her desk, curled in her arms.

Emma Oliverson skidded into the classroom, slightly out of the breath. She has jogged to class from the lake (she had almost completely forgot about dueling class!) Glancing around the classroom, she noticed that not many students were there yet. She also noticed little dummies in rows. 'A little odd...' Emma thought as she took a seat at a desk. But she patiently took out her wand and set it on her desk, hoping to be able to blast one of the dummies to oblivion... 'If that's what we're going to do' Emma thought with a smile.

The class was still missing a majority of students, so John decided to wait a while bit longer for more students to fill in. He turns address the class.
"A majority of your students are still missing so we'll wait for them before starting class."
He stepped on the raised platform, and began to set the dummy for his lecture today.

Citrine's heels clicked on the cold cement as she walked toward the classroom. Ah, but it was such a nice, cloudy day. She glanced longingly at the sky, her green eyes reflecting gray. Pouting, she turned and pushed open the door. Mandu hadn't arrived yet, but Citrine quickly found Ritsuka's ears, peeping from her head, her face buried in her arms.
"Class hasn't even started, and you're already sleeping?" She took a step forward before noticing the dummies to her right. Citrine eyed them cautiously before stepping toward one in particular, dirty and gray, and nudging it with one finger. Then, as swift as the wind, her fist went flying toward its face. With the teacher's back turned, the head spun around, and she caught it before it broke off. It stayed when she let go, and inched away toward her cat friend.
To put it mildly, she wasn't excited to be stuck in a classroom.

Mandu, with headphones in place, slowly walked to dueling class. He passed familiar faces but payed no attention as he was lost in his music. (the last chord of A Day in the Life is effing HOTT!!). Before he knew it, he was outside the classroom door. He slowly opened it and peered into the room. To the right were several dummies lined up. "Hopefully we'll actually do something today," he thought to himself. Going to his seat, he noticed that Ritsuka and Citrine had already arrived. Ritsuka had her head down. Mandu waved at Citrine and asked, "Have I missed anything important?" He removed his headphones and wrapped them around his MP3 player and set it aside. He looked ahead and saw the professor on a platform, fussing with a dummy.

The classroom door creaked open and shut close every few minutes followed by the sound of feet clicking on the stone floor and the annoying SMACK of students plopping down their work on their desks. The sound usually would sent out an echo throughout the rafters of the room which was kind of soothing in a Shut-The-Hell-Up kind of way.
Ritsuka's ears twitched in time to her music [OOC: Don't worry, it was a slow song so it's not like my ears were spazzing. xDDDD] when she heard a familiar voice, ""Class hasn't even started, and you're already sleeping?" Laughing into her arms, the cat girl lifted her head to greet Citrine's emerald eyes and smiled, "Yes, you are correct."
Averting her gaze to the classroom door, she saw as Mandu walked in a bit oddly. It looks like he's afraid to walk in here with his PEERING around the door. Ritsuka thought to herself. He walked over and waved to Citrine then asking, "Have I missed anything important?"
"No, nothing at all," Ritsuka nudged her head to the front of the class, "As you can see, the professor seems a bit occupied and..." looking around the classroom, "not many students are here." Ears drawn back, she put her feet up on her desk and leaned against the back of her chair. "From what I can tell, this class is going to be a bunch of sitting around, sleeping, and potentially drooling... if you don't know how to keep your mouth shut while you're sleeping that is." She laughed openly and looked at the clock. God damn it, we still have forever.
Sighing a bit, "Do you mind having a random student as your partner Mandu?" Ritsuka asked through closed eyes, "Cause apparently we're gonna be doing stuff with those dummies and a partner... and, well, you know Citrine and I. We're anti-social and people-intolerant." Grinning widely, flashing her rainbow braces with a rather stupid look on her face, she waited for an answer.

"Alright. Alright. Could everyone please take a seat?"
The professor straightened himself up to face to class, signaling the start of today's lecture. He looked across the still half empty room, but saw many of the same faces from their last meeting. He had planned to assigned the students with partners, but then he realized the he had no idea what sort of skill level the class was at. And so he knelt down and dusted the a little and took a seat.
"Last time we met, I said that I would match y'all up with partners. But since I hardly know any of you yet, I'm going to let you choose your own dueling partners. Chances are that they will not be your permanent partner, for I will change your partners to match skill levels as the class progresses."
John held his hands a little distance in front of him, and a scroll appeared in his left hand with a quill in his right.
"Come up to me when you have a pair."

Citrine's eyes scanned the room as the professor droned on about partners. If she were to teach, she would keep things straightforward, no explanation needed. And when students asked unnecessary questions, which they always did, she would roll her eyes. Should they ask again, they should expect a book to the face. She laughed softly and realized the professor had stopped talking. Glancing around one last time, she told Ritsuka, "I'll write our names down. I know movement is a challenge for the massively obese."
Citrine pushed herself out of her chair and approached the floating parchment, quill in hand. It was on of those magical (surprise, surprise) writing utensils that refilled the ink on its own... an incredibly useful tool. When standing before the parchment, Citrine bent forward, held the quill to it, and signed the two names.

Emma's eyebrow's raised in surprise. She would prefer it if the professor assigned parnters. She had no idea as to the other student's level either. Emma frowned slightly, and glanced around the room. Other students had seemed to already have partners. 'Dang it Megan!' Emma thought, her best friend and cousin had Herbology at this time. Emma knew she should have switched her classes to match Megan's but had been too lazy to do so. 'Maybe I don't need a parnter? After all, there are dummys in the classroom...' Emma's thought trailed off hopefully.
