Beau sunk further down in the sofa, taking up almot the entire length of it himself, with his outstreched legs. No one had dared to approach him or ask him to shift over a little. Not after the ecene a little while ago when he'd almost bitten the head off a pretty little Hufflepuff. To be fair, the Hufflepuff has tried to pull the magazine from his hands, but it had only been a joke. Whats more, Beau had always been nice to said Hufflepuff, because he was shallow like that. Not today, though. He'd snatched his magazine back and snarled something nasty at her, and she'd run off in a flood of tears.
Beau wasn't in the best of moods. He'd just had to endure an hour of Acastas' merciless teasing that he'd been dumped. It wasn't just his brother's jibes that put him in a bad mood.. He'd been almost unbearable since the moment Alana had dumped him. Beau'd never been dumped. Not ever in living memory.. Except for Alana. And he was less than pleased about it. He'd genuinely liked her. She seemed to be all he thought about now, too. Maybe it was that thing - about if you couldn't have something you wanted it even more, but Beau didn't care. All he knew was that he'd been dumped, and it had to officially be the worst thing ever.
Scowling to himself, Beau flicked the glossy pages of the old magazine - some old Witch Weekly - not really reading anything, but thinking that he might as well try and look like he was reading. He might not look quite so much as though he was sulking..

Life was officially a b*tch. Beau was usually a lucky kind of person - but today was really just not turning out to be his day. Really, the only thing that could have made his day worse was Alana bursting in - and lo and behold, she did. Well, that wasn't strictly true. Had Alana bounded in laughing and hand in hand with her new boyfriend, he might actually have hexed someone. As it was, Alana was in tears. Beau was momentarily torn - he could be a petty and vindictive when he wanted, and had it been anyone else in tears he'd have felt a vicious kind of pleasure. As it was, he felt uncharacteristically sympathetic.
There was an awkward pause, after she'd seen him where he was uncertain what to do. He wasn't used to comforting people, or swallowing his wounded pride. But Alana's tear streaked face sort of forced him into action. He dropped the magazine, shifting almost uncertainly to the edge of the sofa and leaning cautiously towards her. "Are you alright?" He asked - told you he was no good at the comforting thing. He could've kicked himself as soon as he'd said it - did she look alright? "I mean.. Look, here." By some miracle he actually had a (clean) tissue in his pocket, which he promptly pulled out and held towards her.

After the small stuttered thanks, Beau wasn't expecting Alana to practically launch herself into his arms. Still, he couldn't help but to sort of hug (albeit a little awkwardly at first) back. Reflex reaction, he told himself, anyone'd do the same.. He tensed as her words, letting her slip out of his arms. Beau'd never been one to be lost for words, but he honestly was. He loved Alana, had and did, and hadn't been able to think of anyone else since she'd dumped him. But still...
"Your just.. your upset, don't worry about it" He brushed away, an edge of something close to regret in his voice. Of course she didn't mean it. She had a new boyfriend now. One she must like better than him.. "Where's whats-his-face?.. Olli?" He asked, feigning ignorance. Chyeah, like he didn't know who he'd been dumped for... He managed not to sound too bitter as he said it.

He looked startled, narrowed blue eyes widening a little in suprise. Well that wasn't the reaction he'd expected. He instantly felt guilty for having put his foot in things so badly, but at the same time felt a sudden small vindictive kind of happiness. It was horrible and selfish of him, but he was a Slytherin. It was annoyance that one out in the end though - irritation that anyone would make Alana cry. So sue him, he was still more than a little in love with her, and he felt protective towards her.
"The b*astard" He said, scowl deepening. See, Beau may be a man wh0re, but at least he was loyal. Faithful to the few people who actually became more than a crush of a fling. Moving closer to her he leant forward and brushed a few dark starnds from her face. "Scum like him doesn't desrve your tears. He's a half-breed half-blood from what I hear, and your better off without him..." He told her vehmently.
