By the time she reached the green grass of the courtyard, the sun was up and the birds were chirping. Citrine was lucky enough to have developed one of her cheeriest of moods as she dragged Kazuo by the hand to where they would practice archery. Approaching a shady tree, she saw the glimmer of her bow and arrow softly placed against the bark, where she ordered it to meet with a flick of her wand. Finally releasing Kazuo from her dominant grasp, she frolicked over to her old friend and welcomed it warmly by wrapping it around herself.
Just then, Citrine looked up and realized one important thing: what would Kazuo use? She had made the mistake of assuming he had one. Even if he did, how would he get to it? Well, she could teach him using hers for now. It would be more challenging, but that'd be better. She'd skip the crawl and go straight to a steady jog!
Smiling modestly, she presented herself and her arrows. "Now let's see, what could we shoot at? No blond little Ravenclaws around..." she said to herself with a giggle. Again, her finger was pressed against her bottom lip as she scanned. She exhaled impatiently and began picking up fallen bark from the area. She wouldn't be shooting at a helpless tree without some helpful armor, no sir.
Using strong rope made from the shed of bark, she strapped the armor into place around the old tree the bow previously sat. There, that should do it. Now that everything was in place, she took a few steps back and measured. Closing her eyes and breathing, Citrine lifted her bow and pulled back steadily. Opening her eyes, she let go, and heard the crack of a perfect target.
"Oh good, they're in perfect condition," she said with a smile. Citrine proceeded to pull off the strap of arrows, as well as the bow, and hold it out for Kazuo's taking. "You'll have to show me what you can do first, dear."

Kazuo was trying to keep up with Citrine's pace as her hand was tightly on his. She ran with elegance while Kazuo, not being the type that looks like he runs or moves very much at all, kept up almost tripping over himself ten times. Reaching the destination Kazuo gazed at the bow and arrow Citrine had brought. It's beautiful. He thought excitedly. Watching intently, Citrine set up make-shift armor on a tree so they could practice. Caring about them trees Citrine, alright! He gave her an enthusiastic thumbs up and a corny smile. She concentrated and shot a perfect target with relative ease. He stared, mouth open a bit, and laughed. That was amazing! Then, Citrine held out the weapon for him. S-see what I can do..? He was unsure about this. Was he really willing to possibly kill someone on such a beautiful day? Nervously taking the bow and arrows, he set up just as Citrine did. Uhh.. He was a bit confused on how to position the arrow, but figured it out eventually. Pulling back the string was very difficult since Kazuo never really worked out. He was very shakey and was afraid he'd lose his grip, and out of his fear, he lost his grip. sh*t! The arrow shot off into the trees causing a flock of birds to fly for their lives and scattering into the sky. Slowly looking back at Citrine, he blushed madly and put his hands on his hips as if to admire his work. I think I'm getting somewhere. Smiling a bright smile, he continued to blush.

Citrine laughed as Kazuo stood in a Hercules-like position. His arrow had barely missed a few birds over head. How could she fix this? She didn't know anything about her weapon, just how to hold it, and how to shoot. She didn't know the names of the parts of the instrument, or how to instruct. But she'd have to try.
"Way to go!" She said enthusiastically, the same thumbs up and corny smile as Kazuo had earlier presented. It was hot already and she'd have to be comfortable before she continued. She was still wearing her knee length coat from the night before, buttoned up, like a dress. She thoughtfully stepped forward, while slowly removing her jacket, scanning the area. A thin black dress was revealed, a bit above her knees, and straps that fell to her upper arm. It was tied neatly in the back, actually revealing her natural born curves. Such a sight was rare.
Her pale skin was almost reflective as she set down her jacket beside a tree. She felt so much lighter without it, but still she needed less. She got to one knee and began to unlace her black boots. This would take awhile.
"Okay, try again... hold on." Citrine got up and hopped a fair distance from range. "This time don't think about it. Think about your form and nothing else. Close your eyes, breath, and let the arrow fly. I'll be right with you," she said almost professionally as her right boot finally slipped off, along with her black sock. She moved on to the other and watched over her shoulder, eyes squinting.

To not think about? Eh.. that's going to be hard.. Kazuo thought to himself picking up the bow and arrow once more. Okay.. He said shyly. I'm never going to get this.. Closing his eyes, he slowly pulled back the string to his ear. He held the bow more steadily this time and he listened to everything around him. The wind whooshed over the grass gently, birds flew above him singing songs of life and his hair lightly flew a bit in the breeze. Just think about the arrows my step-father shot.. those beautiful rays of light that chased the tail of the arrow with speed releasing energy on the target.. It was strange, his hand felt like it was being shocked with something but he shook it off. Finally, he released the arrow. Without warning it caught ablaze with a blue and green blaze that radiated outward, shimmering. Kazuo flew back onto his butt and stared at the arrow as if in slow motion. It hit the tree right in the middle and the light seeped into the bark of the trunk. The tree glowed a strange color and fell into a rush of water, like a water balloon would when it hits a target. The rush of water shoved Kazuo over even more and he hit a nearby bench with his back. Citrine's bow had been washed to the side and the arrow had disappeared. Oh my God, what the hell did I just do? Kazuo coughed, spitting out water.

Citrine had finally pulled off her other boot and sock when suddenly she felt a rush of cold around her. Her body was shoved in some strange direction, and she felt herself tumbling, as if gravity itself had evaporated. Things were hitting her body, and she couldn't find direction. She cringed in pain with each violent shove, and tried to stop her dress from being ripped off her completely. She heard Kazuo spitting and coughing somewhere behind her.
Finally she landed, softly, but tumbling, on hot and wet concrete, a great distance from the tree... wait... where was the tree? She felt her stomach tighten with defense as she pulled herself painfully up. Damn, she could hardly move. She tried to regain composure, taking her entire head of hair and flipping it heavily back over her head. She spat out water as she pulled down on her dress, realizing it was halfway up her stomach when she landed. There was something about being a vampire, though. Her entire body never changed colors: she was the same pale throughout. So, nothing would be surprising. Still. Damn that was embarrassing.
Upon standing up, Citrine's mind raced and she found herself violently collapsing back to the ground, eyes bulged, trying to get control of herself. She gave up and began to crawl toward Kazuo, who was somehow less injured. And she was supposed to be the strong one! Well, she was a lot closer to the tree... Where's my bow?
He had landed hard against a bench and Citrine half crawled, half ran toward him. Unfortunately, this ended up in her losing balance again, and landing practically atop him. Gripping his shirt, she looked up at him her face dripping, but some kind of cynical smile on her face. "Are you okay? What the hell happened?"

Citrine walked, well more of crawled, over to Kazuo who was dripping wet from the water. Sputtering and coughing some more, he laughed through his hiccups. W-wow! Whatever I did was amazing! He stood up slowly and helped Citrine up as well. He violently shook his hair like a dog to remove the majority of the water within in. He looked at his hands and on his right hand was the sign of Yin, and his left the sign of Yang. Blinking a few times and rubbing his eyes, he looked again and the signs were still engraved in his palms. Ci.. Citrine..? What are these? He held out his hands, palms up, with a worried look on his face.

Citrine raised an eyebrow and smiled, something that looked absolutely breathtaking through wet eyelashes. She reached out and grabbed his hands softly, pulling them in to examine. Her fingers traced around the half circles with sensitive intrigue.
"Did you have these the whole time? How did I not notice?"

He shook his head no in response to her question and he continued to stare at the markings. I think I would've noticed THIS on my own hands! He laughed. As he stared, though, the markings slowly faded away until there was nothing left. Wait what?! Shaking his hands, he looked at them again; nothing there. I.. am so lost right now.. He looked around and saw Citrine's bow sitting in a small puddle. Running over, he picked it up and gave it back to her. Sorry about.. he gestured to her body Getting you wet and all. At least, I'm assuming that was my fault.. Where'd the tree go? He scratched his head in confusion.

Citrine stared at her own fingertips awhile after the marks disappeared. When she looked back up, Kazuo was running toward her with her precious - soaked - bow. The arrows were gone, but she could find more.
"Hey no problem," she said slowly. "It was refreshing!"

Citrine, can I try again? I want to see if I can do it again. I don't know, maybe I can make it have a different effect this time. Kazuo was determined to unlock all his talent right now and here. What he had done earlier lit a fire in his soul and he felt that he could do anything. Though, he felt strange, like there was something else within him besides talent. He didn't know what it was, but he just shrugged it off and took the bow in his hands. What should I aim for this time? His eyes scanned the courtyard for something that wouldn't be missed if it happened to disappear.

Citrine happily handed him the bow, equally intrigued by Kazuo's talent. She knew he would do well, she just knew it. She, too, scanned the courtyard, eyes stopping on one large boulder in the corner of the green field. Pointing to it, she smiled back at him before stepping a few feet back.
While he prepared, she squeezed the bottom of her dress, letting the absorbed water drain. It fell to the ground below it, tickling her toes, and she breathed in the fresh air. That water really was refreshing. In fact, she'd hoped, deep down, that it would happen again. Though the way he spoke made it seem like he wanted a different outcome.
Citrine looked back up at the boulder, awaiting whatever surprise came next.

Kazuo did the same procedure as before and aimed the tip of the arrow at the boulder. He looked out of the corner of his eye to see his hand, but saw no yin or yang on it. Sighing, he stuck his feet to the ground hoping he wouldn't be knocked over by another shockwave. Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes and let go of the string. Looking at the boulder, it hadn't turned to a bowl of water rampaging at him. No, it was the same. The arrow was stuck in the rock, but nothing was happening. Feeling defeated, Kazuo let his arms fall to his sides. Ugh, what the hell. He growled. A sharp stinging went through his left hand and up his arm to his shoulder. Ahh.. He hissed and grabbed his shoulder. Looking at his palm, the Yang was back. Glowing an ominous purple, a haze seemed to be flowing from the white spot surrounded by black. Suddenly, the haze shot upwards in a geyser, everything surrounding him looked as if it were inverted coloring. Citrine!!! He called out. The pain in his hand increased and soon he was lying on the ground, balling his fist and biting his knuckles. Stop! Make it stop!!! He yelled an angry cry and shoved his palm to ground as if to try and scratch off the Yang in the gravel and sand of a worn out patch of grass. The haze radiated outwards, a purple ring surrounding him on the floor with strange writing he'd never seen before. Then, it closed in on him at a fast pace and it shot straight to the boulder through the ground, like lightning from the sky. Once it hit, Kazuo didn't know what he should've done. Run and try to help Citrine get away, or sit there and possibly be killed. The ray had hit the boulder right in the middle splitting it in two, then it just burst outwards sending large shards of earth in every direction. Oh my God.. He clenched his eyes shut as a huge rock headed straight for him, he put his arms up in front of his face in an X and he awaited the worst. A loud crash and crumbling later, dust had settled around him. He opened his eyes slowly and saw that he had made some kind of light barrier around him. The lawns were covered in gravel, the area where the boulder once was was a giant crater. Kazuo was panting like mad, he didn't know what he just did. Citrine!!! He had almost forgotten from the experience he just had. Turning around swiftly he called out to her. Citrine!!! He couldn't see where she had gone and he prayed to the heavens that he hadn't injured her, that she had managed to get out of the way quick enough.

Citrine sighed and stepped toward Kazuo, a sad smile on her face. "Hey, don't worry about it," she said. "I'm sure it was just..." Citrine didn't have time to realize she didn't know how to explain herself. So many things happened at once; she wasn't quite sure what to do or even what was going on. This time, it wasn't water, though. It wasn't quite so...refreshing, per say.
First, she heard Kazuo cry out in pain. Within half a second, she was by his side, holding him up, shouting at him to tell her what was wrong. He fell to the ground and began to bite his knuckles, and in doing so, Citrine saw that the markings had reappeared. She looked around frantically, mouth open, when she heard - and saw - something of an explosion. A huge purple haze came from below her, where Kazuo lay, and shot straight at the boulder she'd caught with her eye.
She couldn't move. In a second, she would have been yards away, out of range. But instead she was thinking. She had to grab Kazuo. She had to save him. She could do it. Why wasn't she moving? Had he caused this? What was happening? In telling herself she could save him, she couldn't act until she knew what was happening. Suddenly, a giant piece of rock was flying toward her, and she flew out of the way in a swift wave of color. She landed hard on the ground, flipping over to look at Kazuo, who had...
Citrine couldn't believe it. Dust was surrounding him, particles of the rock that had almost impaled her. She stared up at him, eyes wide and possibly tearing, she couldn't really tell, for one quick moment before-
A wave of pain shot through different parts of her body. First it was her shoulder, struck hard with a sharp edge of rock and causing her to collapse back to the ground, unable to pull herself up. White hot pain was rushing through her, her eyes now definitely tearing, she gasped for breath. Then she felt another shot of pain in her leg and hips, where various rocks hit her, and caused her to turn over, landing hard into sharp bits, stabbing her at random. She cried out, twice or three times, she wasn't sure. And then fell to silence, laying on the ground, unable to move.
She heard her name a few feet...behind her? She couldn't tell. She told her body to move, but it wouldn't. She took the high road and began shouting obscenities in between cries of pain.
Wow, I'm weak, she thought to herself.

Citrine!!! He saw her body lying on the ground not too far from him and thought the worst. But.. she can't be dead right? She's already dead.. Can one die twice? He ran over to her side and lifted her head and rested her on his knee. Oh man, what have I done? He looked at his right hand and saw the Yin. Yin is supposed to be good and light.. right? He looked at Citrine and saw that she was in some serious pain. Here goes.. He held his right hand above Citrine's stomach and concentrated on the hopes of Citrine just being able to be fine again. He thought of her smiling again and not in the state she was and soon a white light flowed outwards to her body. When it stopped, he sat there and waited. Had he done the correct thing? Or had he just made things worse. Please, let it help. He was so worried, he really wanted his belief to be true and her to be healed.

Citrine felt herself being lifted, and softness around her. She opened her eyes and saw through a strange shade of crimson, Kazuo holding her up. Her body had numbed from the overwhelming pain. She knew she couldn't die, but what would she do? Sit there in pain forever? She just needed to be taken to the hospital wing, have her shoulder popped back into place, her wounds sewn. She'd be fine. She had to be.
Suddenly, her body felt a strange tingle. She was warm, and light, and she felt a strange sort of cooling through her body. The sensation made her smile weakly, until finally her thoughts were working, fast. Her eyelids tore open again, and she saw the sun blocked by the panicked face of Kazuo. His hand rested on her stomach, and his arm was holding her head.
She sat up a bit and looked around. Pieces of rock lie everywhere, layering the ground. Realizing how badly she could have been injured, she looked down at herself, a porcelain doll, good as new. She jerked her head back fast, eyes wide, looking at Kazuo. She wanted to fly into his arms, head to his chest, and just hold on tight. She wanted to kiss his face again and again, thank him for whatever he did...
But what did he do? He had healed her, but, had he not nearly killed her, as well? Of course... he couldn't help it. He wouldn't do it on purpose. He wasn't... he wasn't like that... She continued to look at him and suddenly knew just what to say.
"I think that's enough archery for one day, love." She touched his hand lovingly, using all of her strength to keep herself from tackling him with a smile. If he had caused that insanity... his amount of awesome would just be off the scale.
