She smiled, and even chuckled a bit. Pressing her hands against her knees, she sighed and prepared for whatever reaction she may have to endure. Closing her eyes, she spoke. "I'm afraid life for me ended quite some time ago."

Kazuo didn't think he heard right. Did she just say her life ended quite some time ago? His dark brown eyes widened a bit, continuing to stare at Citrine. His mouth opened a few times as if to say something, but nothing came out. He shifted in his seat and tried to think this over. If she's.. yet she's.. but how did.. He looked at Citrine's skin and remembered what she had said. Lack of blood flow.. He gasped slightly and leaned forward a bit. Then.. how are you still here? Are you a ghost? He leaned back after he said this, and raised his eyebrow. Wait, I'm not dead am I? He patted his chest and pinched his arms. Ow.. okay, obviously I'm still alive.

Citrine smiled; he hadn't run, not yet anyway. Her fingernails were gripping her palms, digging to the point of numbness. She was never nervous about her state of being, but for some reason...
He was something... asking first if he was dead. Pinching himself made her giggle more. Honestly, she'd probably do the same thing. You just never know what side you're on. She closed her eyes and bit on her lip. She didn't really know how to handle the situation. Her foot was tapping against the concrete, metal heels echoing who knows how far. She wasn't a ghost... she had a body. She wasn't a zombie... she had a brain. She had speed, and strength, and this strange angelic beauty. She was practically invincible, and could move with the wind. She had teeth like razors, but chose not to use them. That was rare.
"If I were a ghost, I wouldn't be able to do this." She reached out and softly touched his hand. He was warm. Even in this cold, he was warmer than her. The cold, electric touch of her skin would shock him, but at least she could touch, and he would definitely feel it.
"In a place like this, anything's possible, right? I don't know where you came from, but if you're from where I reside, this shouldn't be too much to handle." She stopped and breathed. "Do you believe in vampires?"

Citrine reached out and touched Kazuo's hand, sending a small wave of goosebumps up his arm. He breathed out slowly and looked up at Citrine. He smiled a bit, I don't really have a place that I "came" from. I just sort of appeared. You know? I don't know how to explain it. He felt kind of embarrassed at how weird that must sound. Vampires? He looked upward in a thoughtful manner and looked back at Citrine's emerald eyes. I suppose I do. Like you said, anything is possible. So my mind is open to everything and anything. Smiling once again.

Now it was Citrine's turn to be confused. Half of her was screaming. How was he still sitting next to her? Did he not understand? She was dead. Cold and dead. A killer straight from hell, and he was still sitting beside her, warm and breathing. The other half had stopped breathing. He had just...appeared? Isn't that how everyone got here? Appeared from another's body? Appeared from a space ship? Appeared from the foam of the ocean like Aphrodite? Citrine didn't choose to think any further. She pulled her hand away and stared, her eyes almost pleading, with no alter expression. She searched her mind for what to say. Of course he believed in vampires. What he thought about them was something entirely different.
She just looked at him, into his eyes. For once, she was speechless.

He noticed Citrine was just staring at him. Had he said something wrong? Citrine..? He waved his hand in front of her eyes. You okay?

Citrine shook her head and attempted a smile. "All good," she said quietly. She wasn't sure what to do now, or rather what to talk about. She feared the conversation may have to end soon, and she didn't want that to happen. The night was still young and she had nothing to do. She bit her lip and wondered what they could talk about.

Mm.. Then.. Uh.. He wanted to ask the question, but also, didn't. Would it offend her? Would it scare her away? He could only find out now. Citrine. You seem a bit off. Is there something you're trying to tell me? You've been kind of fidgety since. He wished she would just tell him what's wrong, he could obviously tell something was up.

She looked up at him, still confused. Honestly, Citrine was a bit lost in this conversation. She didn't care to dance around it anymore.
"So, though I haven't really said it, only implied, have you gathered yet that I'm a vampire?"
She know she asked about what he believed in, and implied that she was dead, but hadn't actually stated. She wasn't sure why he hadn't reacted yet... maybe she hadn't said it right.

His mouth opened and closed a few times. How could he not have put the pieces together? Lack of blood flow. Bringing up vampires. He felt so stupidly stupid, he twitched. Oh man.. Citrine. I'm sorry I was that blind. He sat there staring at Citrine's mouth, thinking that maybe if he stared long enough he'd be able to see her teeth. When he realized he had been staring for quite some time, he blushed and let out a nervous laugh.

Citrine shook her head and smiled. He was apologizing? Man, where did this guy come from? When she payed closer attention, she saw him gazing, right where she expected, in between her lips. She rolled her eyes happily and smiled bigger than she had the whole night. She had perfect teeth, for someone born before real dentistry, straight and white, except for one flaw, at least to most people: fangs, perfectly symmetric, right before the corners of the lips. She then smiled normally again, a bare closed mouthed smile, and giggled. Then suddenly her eyes widened and she jumped a bit.
"But, before you run for the hills, let me tell you... I don't hunt humans. Haven't for decades. I never really did, actually. I'd just have a few slip ups every now and then. For emergency purposes, only." She stammered a bit as she spoke. "Many vampires are more peaceful than humans. Look at what you do, war, gunfire, genocide. We kill only when necessary. We'll take your life to save it." She hoped he understood.
Citrine recalled the night months ago, when her friend Celestial Snape lay on the cement floor, inches from death. Alucard had been the one to save her. Citrine wasn't even strong enough; her heart was too weak. Now Celeste walked around like she, a corpse, unhappy in her state. Poor thing. Citrine enjoyed her bitter end, while Celeste was miserable.

He stared at her teeth in awe. So sharp and aggressive looking for such a soft and gentle girl. He didn't once think of running away in fear. But it was nice listening to Citrine explain her situation. It all made sense. He smiled, Well, I hope I don't get on your bad side, Citrine! He laughed a warm laugh and rubbed his hands together from the cold. So, are you numb? Or do you still have feeling? I want to know so much! What's it like being undead? He felt that he was asking too many questions at once and that he was leaning a bit too close to Citrine for comfort. At least, he assumed in her point of view. He didn't mind it at all.

Citrine found herself laughing again. She scooted in a comfortable, warm way toward him, facing him and glowing. Odd...nobody had ever really asked her about her state. Come to think of it, she had to wonder why not.
"Hm, okay. Well, I still feel things, yes. I can feel the chill against my skin," she smiled and presented her arm, shivering with goosebumps. She might even feel the cold more than most, after all, she had no blood to warm her. "My heart doesn't beat, and I don't have a pulse, of course. I breathe, but I'm really not supposed to. It has always been a habit that I don't care to rid myself of. To be without breath is just unthinkable...dead or alive." Gee, that made sense. "I, um, I don't know. It's not so much being dead, but rather the little things that come with being a vampire."
She smiled and winked at him before rising from the bench they sat on. She was like an angel, the way she rose. She didn't stumble, or shake, but rather swayed, and glided a few feet forward. She then spun around, her hair flying in all directions, and her little black dress doing the same. Her pale bare legs were dancing around, but it was hard to see through the blur of the movement. She was like a ghost, blurred and unreal. She stopped, her hair still dancing around her a few more seconds, and put her arms out as if to say 'ta-da.'
Strolling back over the bench, she felt like a little girl. Citrine tucked her dress under her legs as she sat, avoiding the cold metal. She then looked back at Kazuo, still sitting close and eager.

Everything Citrine told him made Kazuo more and more happy to know such a wonderful and interesting girl. As she talked, he watched her lips move and tried to catch a glimpse of her fangs at any given chance. Citrine had gotten up and put on, what seemed like a show for him. She glided so elegantly, so beautifully. He laughed when she made the funny gesture, and didn't let his eyes leave her face until she sat down. Wow Citrine. Seriously. That was awesome. His eyes sparkled like a kid in a candy store. He couldn't believe he has actually met a REAL vampire! Not ones just in stories and folk lore. I can't even express how ecstatic I am right now. Do you realize that you're an ACTUAL vampire?! This whole concept was blowing his mind. That's just.. He grabbed his head in a crazy manner. AWESOME! He said a bit too loud and covered his mouth. He blushed at how embarrassing he must look at the moment and started to laugh.

Do you realize that you're an ACTUAL vampire?!
Citrine raised one eyebrow, an amused look on her face. Then, she began to laugh. She was laughing as he spoke, an odd sense of bubbliness taking over her. Through her laughter, she heard Kazuo yell "awesome!" He was clutching his head and laughing, embarrassed at his own voice level. She laughed even more, surprised, to say the least.
She guessed it was the first positive experience she had had in a long time. So many people she spent time with spent their moments unhappy, miserable, and questioning. Why they never appreciated what they have, why no one ever understood like Kazuo did just how wonderful it was to be a vampire, Citrine would never know.
Through giggles, she managed to say a muffled, "I guess you approve!!"
