Emma walked out towards the courtyard and looked around. She was surprised to see that the place was deserted. She sat down on one of the benches and took out the book she had been carrying in her bag. She hated not having anything to do and always made sure that she had something in her bag which could keep her occupied, even if it was only for a while. She looked around quickly before she began to read and wondered where everyone had got to.

Draco was sitting by the water fountain, practicing his spells, mostly all of them he screwed up with Stuipid Charms Class He said, still trying to figure out how to set his target on fire.

Emma heard someone muttering something and looked up from her book. She saw a boy of about her age sat by the fountain trying out some spells but it didn't seem to be going very well. She walked over to him. "Hi," she said with a smile.

Incendio Draco said, one last time, then he turned to the girl Hello He said unleasily, he took his want and smacked it on his free hand a couple of times.

"What are you trying to do?" Emma asked as she heard the boy mutter something and then begin hitting his wand against his hand. "I'm Emma by the way," she said as she realized she hadn't introduced herself.

"I see," Emma said. "Nice to meet you Draco." She watched him hit his wand against his hand again and dodged the fire which shot from the end of his wand. "Thanks for that," she said sarcastically as she saw him try hard to stop himself smiling.

"I know what you mean," Emma said and laughed. She didn't really care what happened as long as she didn't get too badly hurt. "Yeah I'm in Hufflepuff, I'm in my fourth year. How about you?" she asked.

"Thats cool. We're the same age then, I thought we were," Emma said as she watched him try and sort out his wand. She watched as some fire shot from the wand and smiled a little. "You managed to sort it out then," she said.

"It does most of the time," Emma said and nodded in agreement. "Why don't you try taking it slow and relax a bit instead of rushing the spell and trying to force it to work?" she asked. "It might work better that way."

"It doesn't always work out the way you want it to though unfortunately," Emma said with a smile. She could tell that Draco was impatient so she thought it might be better to change the subject rather than try and talk him round. "Why are you trying to get that spell to work anyway?" she asked.
